Hilton Playa del Carmen Resort Tour by Barefoot Bride Sophia Wilder

Playa del Carmen is a magical city and holds a very special place in the hearts of my fiance and I. When selecting a destination city for our wedding, we knew we wanted to choose a place that would offer our variety of guests an experience that would suit their needs. Our wedding guests will be a mix of younger couples looking to party and older family members seeking relaxation and a safe experience. Because of this, we were on the hunt to tour resorts that would be a comfortable accommodation for the full spectrum of our guests.

We visited Playa del Carmen in order to tour resorts as wedding venues and as potential stays. We saw the grandeur of the Hilton Playa del Carmen while exploring the streets of Quinta Avenida and knew we wanted to take a tour. So we scheduled a tour and were very excited to walk through the resort.

Upon arrival, we were greeted for our tour in the main lobby, which was beautiful and open. Our guide took us to different wedding venues within the resort and while the gazebo overlooking the ocean caught our eye, ultimately we wanted something a little more private for our wedding itself. We toured the ballrooms which would allow for this privacy, but they were nothing out of the ordinary compared to ballrooms you’d expect at any hotel in the US. So while we quickly realized this was not the place we’d like to host our wedding, we did continue the tour in order to see if the resort was what we were looking for as the place to stay for us and our guests during the week leading up to our wedding.

Our guide took us through the amenities, showing s a nice gym, salon, and other services. He took us the the variety of world-class restaurants and we were able to see the breadth of options this resort offered. What really struck me as my favorite spot was the stunning coffee shop with the most beautiful views I’ve ever seen. The resort is massive, while still accessible for older guests, which we liked. There is a main pool where the vibe is more fun and then there’s also a quiet pool, perfect for those guests looking for a little more peace and relaxation.

The room tiers also offered a great range of styles for guests looking for a different experience. The junior suites were stunning, each with a jacuzzi tub in the room. There were rooms that had personal swim up pools, rooms with beach access, and more. The rooms themselves were clean and modern but with a tropical vibe we loved.

Ultimately, after deciding between a variety of resorts, we opted for the Hilton Playa del Carmen for a few key reasons. The first reason being that the resort is right off of Quinta Avenida, meaning that we will be walking distance from our guests who opt to stay in a hotel or Airbnb. THis also allows us easy accessibility to the nightlife and shopping of the main strip, which is something we were looking for. The security seems top notch, with extensive security to enter the resort and also along the beach entrance. The resort is all-inclusive with a very good reputation for food and drink quality. And lastly, we enjoyed the overall vibe that the resort offered and know that our families will enjoy it too!
