My fiancé and I knew we wanted to have a destination wedding since our first all-inclusive trip as a couple, but the newly-engaged excitement and butterflies soon turned into stress and anxiety when I realized how much work it would be to not only plan a wedding from another country, but to also organize travel for all my guests! I was so relieved when I found a travel agent to help with the process only to find out that she wasn’t a destination wedding expert; I ended up organizing every aspect of travel for my 90 invitees and the added stress was like a dark cloud over the wedding planning process. After returning from beautiful Punta Cana, I wanted to make sure no other bride has to go through the same stress I did. Coupled with my love for all things wedding and travel, I started Barefoot Bridal with the mission to transform the path from stress to success for every wedding couple we help.

FOUNDING DESTINATION WEDDING SPECIALIST
Having loved travel and the beach all her life, having a destination wedding was an obvious choice, but finding the perfect location took a lot of research (and her favorite - spreadsheets!) before settling on an off-site venue and an all inclusive resort for her guests. Her love for destination weddings, romance travel, and organization, along with her law degree to help with room block contracts and advocating for her couples, led to Barefoot Bridal becoming one of the top, award-winning agencies in the industry.
Sharon got married with a sunrise ceremony at Huracan Cafe decorated by the famous Mayte Mari herself and her guests stayed at Paradisus Palma Real in Punta Cana.

DESTINATION WEDDING SPECIALIST
As a past Barefoot Bride herself, Diana knows first hand how the destination wedding process works. She knows all of the exciting, yet nerve wrecking feelings that go into planning, from choosing a venue to choosing a resort, and all of the little things in between. As a bilingual specialist, she’s excited to assist not only English speaking brides, but Spanish speaking ones as well.
Diana got married at a villa in Cap Cana, Dominican Republic in 2018 and she used the Huracan wedding team for her wedding planning. Diana and her guests stayed at Melia Caribe for the wedding week.

Carrie had her own little destination wedding in Kona, Hawaii in 2008, and while it was small and relatively easy to "throw together," she understands how stressful any wedding planning can be and loves to be able to take some of that stress away from Barefoot Brides. She has an extensive background in customer service from 15 years in the retail industry and Human Resources, making her an excellent asset to the Barefoot Bridal family, and a favorite among brides and their guests.

April brings to the table a rich 17-year background in travel, where she has honed her skills working with incentive, corporate, and wedding groups—crafting proposals and orchestrating plans to perfection. Having fallen in love with the charm of destination weddings, she chose to specialize in this romantic niche. With a 12-year residency in the Dominican Republic, April possesses an in-depth understanding of this constantly changing Caribbean gem. Her expertise doesn't stop there, as she also offers a working knowledge of Mexico and Jamaica, as well as a comprehensive understanding of all things transportation.

Besides her passion for travel, Angie is a committed parent to her 13-year-old son, who also shares her zest for venturing into uncharted territories.
