A dancing robot emoji and two people ready to give love a second chance, what more do you need for the start of an epic love story?
It all started on Sunday May 22nd, 2022, with a simple “like” on an online profile from Summer.
As Jason was getting ready for bed that same night, he went to his profile to check out this new cute girl who “liked” him. He still remembers how her profile said she likes breakfast, sushi, and she wasn’t afraid to fall in love again… What more could a guy want?! He sent a “like” back to her hoping he would hear from her in the next 5 days…
Well, it didn’t take 5 days…
It didn’t even take 5 minutes…
There on his phone screen was that dancing robot emoji from Summer! Jason paused trying to come up with something clever to say in response. After typing and deleting a few generic messages saying “Hello” In various ways, he sent the message “Nothing like a dancing robot to make me smile on a Sunday night”.
Was this smooth or cheesy? You can decide for yourself, but the important part was that it worked! Summer responded right away, with a laugh, and the romance had begun…
The next day, on Monday, they had their first phone call, which lasted 3 hours, and both went to work tired the next morning. After another chat on Tuesday, they decided to plan a date. Jason suggested Saturday, and Summer said, “Why not sooner?”
“What? Are you trying to get two dates before the end of the weekend?” Jason responded.
“So, what if I am?” Summer said.
Their first date was at Bistro 19 on Thursday. Jason brought Summer a single rose that she still has to this day. A few days later they were doing a 7-mile hike in Ohiopyle, and their relationship was off and hiking…I mean running…
In November of that year, they went on their first big vacation together to St Lucia and went SCUBA diving together for the first time. This would become their shared hobby, and has led to adventures in the Cayman Islands, Cozumel, Roatan, the Bahamas, and of course Gilboa Quarry in Ohio. Soon to be adventures include Cozumel and on to Fiji!
On October 12, 2024, Summer and Jason went on a Wine Train ride on the Delaware River Railroad. After wine tasting, Jason suggested they go out to the vineyard and get pictures. As Summer was looking around taking pictures of the scenery, Jason bent down to take off his Jacket and set down his bag. When Summer turned around, Jason was on one knee with a ring in his hand. She said “Yes!”, and here they are planning their dream wedding in Puerto Vallarta! They hope you can join them as they say “I Do” on a beautiful beach and begin a lifetime of adventures together!
