Brittany & Brendan

Punta Cana, Dominican Republic
We are so excited to spend an extended weekend with you celebrating our love in Punta Cana!
Our Love Story
Our Love Story
It all began on July 19, 2021—the first day of our careers as accountants, and unknowingly, the first day of our story. We were strangers assigned to side-by-side cubicles, with no idea that friendship—and eventually love—was just around the corner. We quickly became close friends, and before long, we were dating, house hunting, and adopting a puppy together.
Two years later, on a beach in Barbados, Brendan got down on one knee with our closest family members watching nearby. Now, we’re planning our wedding and can’t wait to say, “I do” and celebrate this next chapter with you!

Travel
We have chosen to stay at Dreams Onyx, Punta Cana for our wedding.
Our travel agent, Sharon, is excited to help secure your reservation.
Kindly note that our wedding will be child-free.
Things To Do in Punta Cana
1. Rum Tasting & Pairing Experience: ~30 minutes from Dreams Onyx - This tour shines a light on the history and detailed process of making their unique rums. You’ll not only learn about the different types of rum but also get to taste them, noticing the distinct flavors of each one. Enjoy a special pairing of chocolate and cheese with each rum, creating a truly tasty journey.
2. Scape Park: ~45 minutes from the resort – Natural theme park that offers ziplining off cliffs, exploring ancient caverns, taking pictures of breathtaking waterfalls, and relaxing by an exclusive beach club.
3. Choco Museo: ~30 minutes from the resort - Artisanal chocolate factory that makes its own chocolate from beans to bars with renowned Dominican organic cacao. You can visit the factory and museum free of charge, and there’s even a free tour to teach you all about the history of cacao and chocolate. Visitors can participate in chocolate workshops where they can make their own chocolate from the cacao beans.
4. Monkeyland: ~40 minutes from the resort – This guided tour lets you get up close to adorable, friendly squirrel monkeys. It includes a tour of Dominican culture, living off the land, and the opportunity to taste new exotic Caribbean fruits, freshly roasted coffees, and delicious cocoa.
5. Coco Bongo: ~25 minutes from the resort - combines a nightlife experience with shows inspired by Brazilian Samba, 90’s movie “The Mask,” Spartan 300, Moulin Rouge, Queen, Mad Max, and the Beatles. Enjoy spectacular tributes and sing along to beloved songs.
6. Horseback Riding on the Beach: ~10 minutes from the resort - Take an unforgettable horseback ride through the beautiful beaches of Punta Cana. Safely ride a horse on the seashore, taking in the breathtaking natural scenery as you feel the ocean breeze on your face. See the coconut and palm trees and exuberant vegetation explained by your guide along the way."
Travel Tips
Book Your Travel ASAP. Booking your trip sooner rather than later can help avoid unusually high airfares.
Download Airline’s App. To get up-to-date information and notifications regarding any changes, download your airline’s app.
Stay Hydrated. Drink plenty of bottled water. Stick to bottled water, as tap water is not recommended for drinking.
Pack High-SPF Sunblock. Apply it regularly, especially after swimming or sweating, to protect your skin from sunburn. Bring a hat and sunglasses for extra protection.
Bring Cash for Tips. Tipping is customary in Punta Cana and having cash on hand is convenient for tipping hotel staff, tour guides, airport transfer drivers, and restaurant servers.
Prepare Digital Back-Ups. Check your passport expiration date and take a photo of it to keep on your phone. Download the travel documents that you will receive from the travel agent prior to your trip onto your phone for easy access even without cell service or WiFi.
Call Your Cell Company. Inform them of your trip in advance and ask about international plans to avoid unexpected roaming charges and ensure your phone will work abroad.
Call Your Credit Card Company. Inform them of your trip in advance to avoid them freezing your account due to seemingly fraudulent international charges. Don’t forget you will need a credit card upon check-in at the resort just like is required by hotels in the states. Be aware of international fees that apply to certain credit cards.
Arrive at the Airport On Time. Most airports recommend arriving at the airport 3 hours in advance of an international flight. Most flights board around 40-50 minutes prior to the departure time - you don't want to be stuck in a long security line during this window!
Use Your In-Room Safe. Your passport, electronics, prescription medications, cash, and all valuables should remain locked in your in-room safe.
Download Hyatt Inclusive Collection App. Search for “Dreams Onyx” within the app for helpful, resort-specific information, such as: different room categories, restaurants and bars on-site, a hotel map, daily activities, nightly shows, etc.

You can work with our travel agent to make arrangements for transportation when you book your travel. Private round trip airport transportation will be $45 per person. Other options include local transportation such as cabs, Ubers, etc.
-
While you do not have to stay at our suggested resort, external guests will have to buy “wedding passes” for $55 per person to enter the property for our ceremony and reception only and would not be allowed on the property for any other events, such as the welcome party, rehearsal dinner, or wedding afterparty. Since Dreams Onyx has exchange privileges with Breathless Punta Cana, the resort next door, allowing guests of either resort to come and go, the wedding pass is not required for any guests that were to stay there. Please note, however, we do not have a room block at Breathless, so we cannot offer our preferential rates should you decide to stay there instead.

Guests should contact our travel agent, Sharon, by emailing groups@barefootbridal.com, or calling/texting 866-822-7336 for more immediate matters. Guests are also welcome to reach out to the wedding couple!
