Intro Blog: Andrea Klotz

My first trip to Mexico was in 2017.  I found a deal at  an all inclusive resort, persuaded  my then boyfriend into going, and off we went.  Vacations were forever changed.  We fell in love with Mexico, it became our home away from home, a stress free getaway.  We have since traveled to Mexico 15 or more times.  Needless to say, Mexico has a special place in our heart.  So it was no shock to anyone , but me that my now husband would pull off the most epic surprise of my life, and propose to me on the beach of Mexico, on a family vacation.  To say I was shocked, was an understatement.  We had never discussed or looked at rings, and somehow he picked out the exact ring I envisioned.  Minutes after getting engaged, we both knew this wedding would be somewhere in Mexico.  Soon enough though, the reality set in, would anyone even travel to Mexico, how would they get there, where do we start, panic set in.  We decided that even if not one person came, Mexico was still where we would be married.  So with that mindset, we got to work, picking resorts, looking into wedding packages, and the final piece, getting travel plans in place.  I always had a passion for travel, but quickly realized I couldn’t book our guests on my own.

I found a destination wedding travel agent, and hired her on the spot.  That’s right, I didn’t interview, I didn’t do any research, just hired her.  Looking back, we got standard service, nobody went above and beyond for us. I ended up fielding the majority of my guest questions and concerns.  It was added stress that a bride did not need.  Finally, my guest arrived in Cancun, we got MARRIED at Royalton Riviera and had the time of our lives! I would redo that day and that trip over and over again.  It was truly a once in a lifetime trip.  But once home my mind started to wonder, wedding planning is over, both of my sons are in college, what am I going to do with my time.  I kept going back to my passion for Mexico and travel.  So I spent the next year and half booking amazing honeymoons for clients all over the country.  At the end of the day, my heart was still with destination weddings, and I wanted to help other brides and grooms have their once in a lifetime trip.  That is when I found Barefoot Bridal, their exceptional service and knew this was my new home. I cant wait to help with your trip of a lifetime!
